Kathrine Wilson-Ellis, Senior Strategic Programme Manager – Road Safety, Highways England

Kathy Wilson-Ellis is a senior strategic programme manager in the strategic road safety team within Highways England, supporting the company’s aim that “no one should be harmed when travelling or working on the strategic road network”.

Kathy leads on a number of projects including the delivery of the recently launched Motorcycle Safety and Transport Policy Framework and the NPCC/HE Fatality Study. Kathy also chairs the National Motorcycle and Towing Working Groups, which are aimed at reducing the number of incidents that occur on the Strategic Road Network. She will now also be leading on a new three year programme to take forward the Fatal study through the National Roads Policing Intelligence Forum.

Prior to joining Highways England over 10 years ago, Kathy held a senior position within Police Intelligence and has also held the position of senior analyst for a number of years supporting the Traffic Officer Service within Highways England, and analysing the vast number of incidents that occur on the Strategic Road Network on a daily basis.

Kathy is married and has two children and spends all her spare time with her family on their narrow boat.
