Chris Parr, Assistant Chief Driving Examiner, Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency

Chris Parr joined DVSA 20 years ago, straight from the RAF, with the aim of becoming a motorcycle examiner. His career since than has seen him conduct car and motorcycle testing, before moving on to deliver motorcycle examiner training courses at Cardington, as a permanent staff instructor.

In his current role he is responsible for rider policy which covers everything the Agency does around two wheels. He has recently been responsible for refreshing the DVSA’s post-test training initiative, the Enhanced Rider Scheme, which was relaunched in June 2018, and continues to develop the scheme further with the aim of forging closer links with other road safety partners.

His presentation will look at improvements to Compulsory Basic Training, and DVSA enforcement activities, which are designed to keep learner riders safe.
